12 Oct 2017 in Senate:
On a point of order,Mr. Speaker, Sir. It is important for us to be serious about our work. Earlier on, I raised a point of order at the wrong time. However, I now rise on a point of order on a serious note. The Senate Majority Leader ought to have given me an advance copy of the response. That is standard practice.

12 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not happy with the answer because it is sad that the Senate Majority Leader would lie to the public that he knows that the two leaders are safe. It is important for the public to know that when we request for statements and we are told that we are going to be given responses, they should be delivered. It is important that the Senate Majority Leader agrees that maybe he forgot because he was busy campaigning instead of delivering the Statement. The security of this country is important and we need to understand that. Maybe, ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, there is a difference between the truth and proper language. When something is the truth, you state it as it is. This is because the question is---

12 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, because of the respect of this House, I will withdraw and apologise. However, let us not have double talk. This is because I raised a concern about certain issues yesterday and I remember being told somewhere that the person did not mean it. Anyway, I stick to the point. It is imperative that the Senate Majority Leader provides the Statement when he is so ordered.

12 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I appreciate the importance the Senate Majority Leader has given to this matter. I just want him to assure the people of Narok, Esoit and Kimintent Ward that they will not be in danger during the upcoming elections. This is because we lost lives in my county, Narok County, where the two communities reside. That is the Kipsigis and the Maasai. There are people who were killed. We do not know how many were killed but the indication was that almost ten people were killed. We requested for this Statement before we went on recess because of ...

11 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise under Standing Order No. 94 which is on responsibility for statement of fact. I would like to request Sen. Sakaja to substantiate his claim. I have listened to him talk even when I was coming in. He has said that the former Prime Minister intends to kill the people that he wants to serve. I have heard that statement and it is quite troubling. It is important that when a Senator provides certain information, he should table the facts that he has in this House.

11 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the respect of this House, it is absolutely ludicrous for a hon. Member to allege that the former Prime Minister, whom we respect a lot, has asked people to go and show us their underwear. What he needs to do is to not just to provide allegations or hearsays. The Standing Orders are very clear. He ought to provide the evidence, substantiate or he withdraws and apologises. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wait for you to rule on that.

10 Oct 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for this opportunity. It is imperative that we take serious consideration in setting up these committees because our people are suffering. In the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, for example, we have a huge human- wildlife conflict. We also have a problem with our domestic animals. Right now, we have a huge drought. There are things that need to be considered. It appears that in most cases, wildlife is given priority in this country because of the foreign income. It is sad, just like Sen. Seneta has alluded to, animals are more precious than human beings. ...
