Chair, this will allow the Cabinet Secretary to make rules and regulations in tandem with other legislations. Thank you. view

• 8 Mar 2016 in Senate: Mr. Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 72 (a) of the Bill be amended- (a) In the marginal note by deleting the word “accreditation” and substituting therefor the word “licensing”; and (b) In sub clause (3) by deleting the word “accreditation” appearing immediately after the words “applicant meets the” and substituting therefor the word “licensing”. Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir, there will be many areas in this Bill where this amendment will come wherever we have accreditation and it is supposed to be replaced with the word “licensing” because we are talking of licensing and not accrediting. view

When the Speaker gave us the option to go and re-look at our Committee Report, we took the report from the Council of Governors and also the request from Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr., to insert an amendment and we combined his amendment. So, what we have here is the request from Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. which we consented to. view
