We exchanged our issues and I stand here to congratulate the Chairman, Sen. Kivuti, and the Vice Chair, who is also the Chairperson in the National Assembly. I want to thank them for the wonderful work they did. With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 19 May 2015 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to also add my voice to what my fellow Senators have said on the issue of rating. I was surprised to read this in the newspapers and I was wondering what the criteria they used. I was also surprised because the issues of Nominated Senators was not mentioned in any way or are we not Senators? Sen. Ongoro was said that the Infotrak Company is almost losing credibility and it is a shame that they did talk anything about Nominated Senators. I am aware of Nominated Senators who are ... view

I am happy that this Bill has been debated by very powerful debaters in this House. It is a very detailed Bill which came through a Committee that I sit in. I have gone through it exhaustively and two reasons as to why I support this Bill is because it speaks about the criteria on how mining activities are supposed to be undertaken in our country. Unlike those other days where people could be given permits or certificates to continue mining ... view

I was mentioning Nakuru County so that I refer to a certain mineral. I come from that county but I am not talking about Nakuru County. I am talking about Kenya as a whole. view

  • 24 Feb 2015 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, my point of order is about my voting card. I have been mandated by the Senator for Nakuru County to vote on his behalf when he is not around. But I hope you are aware that I have been coming to the front to vote because I am not able to to use my card. I want to know why. view
  • 24 Feb 2015 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me an opportunity to also contribute to the same Bill. Before I do so, I really want to thank the able Sen. (Eng.) Muriuki for bringing this Bill to the Floor. I have a few reasons why I am supporting this Potato Produce and Marketing Bill. My first reason is about production. I know that farmers will be empowered and they will have quality planting seeds. The second reason is about storage; I know that once this Bill is passed, farmers will benefit from the stores because I know that most farmers ... view
