  • 30 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: I will abide by your advice but from the deliberations on Friday we want to do proper work. That is why I am asking for three weeks. I am sure some issues which are in the Statement will be clarified this week on Friday. view
  • 17 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: I thank you, Hon. Speaker. I beg to respond to a Statement sought by Hon. Didmus Barasa which, Hon Speaker, you directed that we respond within two weeks. Those two weeks ends today. Following your direction, I would like to respond as follows in three ways. The first one is on the number of buildings declared unsafe and, therefore, earmarked for demolition by relevant government agencies. A total of 14,895 structures have been audited. Out of those, 723 permanent structures have been declared unsafe pending structural audit integrity testing to pave way for demolition. I have annexes. I do not ... view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Pokot South, JP): Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to tell the House that all the Questions that have come to my Committee have been answered. The Minister for Roads, Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development came here last Thursday and all the Questions that were on the Order Paper were properly answered. The ones I have seen raised by the Leader of the Majority Party look strange. However, following your directive, I will go to his office and reconcile the documentation from the Clerk’s Office with that of the Leader of the Majority Party’s Office. I also want to ... view

When Members ask questions or when you direct us that we adjudicate questions at a committee level, we have realised that most Members take questions which they read in the Floor as an introductory of bringing the Cabinet Secretary to the Committee. What come out are the supplementary questions that come after the many questions. That is when the reason why that Member of Parliament asked that question comes out. The Members ... view

It translates to Kshs31,100,000 per constituency, which is Kshs21 million from 22 per cent and Kshs9,500,000 from the 10 per cent. view
  • 17 Sep 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I also thank my colleague, the Chair of Budget and Appropriations Committee who has just visited me for bringing up this issue. This is particularly on the issue of reviewing the Budget quarterly. What we will achieve will be very fundamental and I think it is better for the people of Kenya to hear. There is a new implementation at the National Treasury called the Budget Review. Budget is about the people and the representatives of the people are in this House. The Constitution has given us power to make the ... view
