  • 16 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to accept that Mathenge weed is a threat to the livelihood of the people and then, again, say that it is a profitable tree? Who is profiting from it? view
  • 30 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. It is very worrying that the trend is developing as regards the custody of these amounts of money. As hon. Members, we are worried, because we are soon becoming victims of a collusion of other Government officers whom we have no control over. I am talking about the District Development Officers and the District Accountants. The Minister has been asked why those officers in the said constituency are still in office. He is asking any Member who has any evidence implicating the two officers to bring it forth when we know that over Kshs30 million ... view
  • 30 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: What other evidence does the Minister require? view
  • 30 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. First of all, I would like to join my colleagues in congratulating the Ministry for doing a pretty good job in ensuring that the energy resources are managed properly in our Republic. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in particular reference to provision of electricity, I would like to thank the Ministry for the efforts that they have so far made to ensure that even the rural communities benefit from the provision of electricity. In appreciating this effort, I would like to ... view
  • 8 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Could the Minister confirm that the Early Childhood Development (ECD) as a department falls under the Ministry of Education? Two, if it is, then who has been taking care of the teachers who fall under that department? view
  • 3 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to confirm to this House that the Nyayo Tea Zones has now become "Nyayo Eucalyptus Zone"? I would like to volunteer information again to him that eucalyptus trees release some toxins called exudets, which destroy the soil components. What they have succeeded in doing, is to degrade the soil further. view
  • 3 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Question is: Could the Minister table a list? It is not "lay" the list? He has tabled the list! view
  • 2 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to ask the Assistant Minister whether it is of profound importance to build stations, or to increase the number of police officers to provide sufficient security. view
  • 14 May 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I just want to follow up on the same issue. How do we trust the Assistant Minister's answers when he tells us that the BOGs are supposed to be in operation, and yet in Kipkelion Constituency there is a school called Lesirwo Day Secondary School whose Board's tenure expired in September last year? Since that time to date, no appointment of the subsequent BOG has been made by the Ministry of Education. I take it that it is laxity on the part of the Ministry of Education. Indeed, this will jeopardise the good will of the Government ... view
  • 14 May 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I stand to join my colleagues in opposing this Motion. Just a few weeks ago the Government began the process of resettling the victims of the post-election violence. I closed the last IDP camp in my constituency yesterday. I am looking up to this House and the Government to fulfil its promise of supporting the victims, who have agreed to go back to their farms and homes. I expect the Government to provide housing as well as food, which should last between five and ... view
