27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for giving that short answer. But could he tell this House why the final surface work has not been completed and yet, that road was supposed to be completed two years ago? We also understand that the contractor has left the site.

27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, you have heard the Assistant Minister say that the road cost a whopping Kshs1.1 billion. He has also admitted that there are cracks and potholes and yet, that road has not been commissioned. What exactly is the Ministry doing? Are they serious? That is wastage of taxpayers’ money! Again, he has misled this House by telling us that the pipes that were destroyed have been replaced. That is a lie! Could the Assistant Minister tell us what is happening because there is a lot of corruption in the Ministry. That is because Kshs1.1. billion is ...

21 Jul 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is not the first time the Minister has abandoned a road. We have a similar road in Kandara, which is only four kilometres long. The project was for 6.5 kilometres. Four kilometres were done and the remainder of 2.5 kilometres was abandoned. The contractor actually left the site. Why can the Government not be serious on this issue? In my case, the same Minister made an undertaking in this House to complete the remaining 2.5 kilometres. That was eight months ago but to date, nothing has happened.

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am very surprised to hear that records for the Nyayo Tea Zones are not available. If you recall, the Nyayo Tea Zones was a State Corporation formed under the State Corporations Act. So, for the Assistant Minister to purport not to have records---

15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, there is a case in the Ministry of Home Affairs where a prisonerâs records were available since 1957 and were brought to this House. So, I do not know what the Minister is telling this House.

15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have heard the Minister say that he may not find the Minister today. But as we know, there are two Assistant Ministers in this Ministry. Those Assistant Ministers are equivalent to a Minister. Why can they not issue the Statement this afternoon? Today, in the afternoon, we have the Prime Ministerâs Time. Mr. Gumo can talk with the PM so that he can bring that Statement. This matter is very serious. We all know Mr. Mwau is over 50 years. He is an old man. You can imagine the ...

2 Jun 2011 in National Assembly:
Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. The issue of lack of police vehicles is not only confined to Kirinyaga. In Kandara Constituency, we have been promised a vehicle since last year. However, nothing has been done. As you know, Kabati Police Station, which is on the busy Nairobi-Nyeri Highway, has no vehicle at all. Could the Assistant Minister tell us when he will provide us with the vehicles?
