  • 18 Apr 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the chance to also condole with the family of Hon. Matiba. I also join my fellow Senators in voicing our concern and feeling that Hon. Kenneth Matiba should not have gone through the pain he went through in life just because he differed with the forces that were there at the time. It is very important for us, Kenyans, to realise that differing with somebody does not mean that the person becomes a demon or a creature from another space. It is just that human beings are created, born and think differently. ... view
  • 29 Mar 2018 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, since the Chair is not here, I ask for two weeks for investigations. For whatever! view
  • 29 Mar 2018 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, two weeks to respond to the question asked. view

  • 28 Mar 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for also giving me time to add my voice to what my colleagues have already spoken. I am one of the few people who spent a lot of time thinking and worrying about Kenya. I have been complaining, talking to myself and to anybody I came close to as to why this happened to us. It was very possible that we were going to split this country into two sections, so, I got worried. I wanted Kenya to remain intact. I have seen so many ugly things based on parties where I come from. ... view
  • 28 Mar 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker, for giving me the chance to add my voice together to those of other hon. Senators. Coming from Turkana County, I am not necessarily a tea grower. However, I want to contribute as a Kenyan. Tea is very important to Kenyan lives. I lived oversees for many years and can tell you that nothing is as good as a cup of Kenyan tea. We would go out to look for shops that sell Kenyan tea, knowing that it is first class Kenyan tea which is usually sent overseas. We would buy and brew a nice ... view
  • 20 Mar 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I am afraid that I may repeat what my sister, Sen. Pareno has just said. However, it is important to emphasise the fact that we do not seem to understand the concept of problem solving. Kenya has been independent for the last 55 years and we are still going through the same problems year after year. Take the example of hunger; it is pestering our people left and right every year. This issue of cattle rustling is also pestering our people year after year. If in “management-think”, like the rest of us to know, that ... view
  • 7 Mar 2018 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me a chance to say a few words over this Bill. I support the Bill. The Bill is timely. It is going to come with a lot of problems because you have heard that it may not pass. Some people will shoot it down or there are just going to be problems in trying to correct the injustices that have been carried out in various places in the country. Standing here today on behalf of Turkana County, we have this situation that we hope--- view
  • 6 Mar 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker, for giving me the chance to contribute to this Motion. The people of Mt. Elgon are losing their lives needlessly. There was no reason given as to why they are being killed. Some people have just decided to kill others. Sen. Wetangula, my heart goes out to your people and to you too for the loss of lives for no reason at all. While the situation in Mt. Elgon constituency is really bad and has prompted the Senate Minority Leader to speak out in the Senate, similar situations are happening all over the country. This ... view
  • 22 Feb 2018 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to add my voice in welcoming the delegation from West Pokot to the Senate to learn some things and take them back to their Assembly in Kapenguria. Everybody has said how they have a relationship with West Pokot. They are our neighbours. To me, unlike hon. Wambua, I did not teach in Kapenguria high School, but Ortum High School. A lot of the leaders in Pokot today are my former students from Ortum High School. For example, the famous Professor Lonyangapuo was my student in the year 1982 at Ortum High School. view
