9 Nov 2017 in Senate:
Thank you so much, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to support the Bill before us and say that this brings us to the real role that we have in this House, that is, the division of revenue. I would like to add that any revenue that goes to the county must be over-sighted by our county assemblies. It is extremely important that as a House, we focus on the roles that our assemblies play. Before I even make the comment on the assemblies, I would like to thank the Senate Majority Leader and the Senate Minority ...

Thank you Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity. I happened to have been in the first group after the revival of the EALA. I am very delighted to contribute and congratulate the five Members who have been appointed by our two leaders. I think this is the way to go. I want to congratulate the Senate Majority Leader and the Senate Minority Leader for negotiating quietly and bringing the five Senators to us. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to join my colleagues in sending my condolences, that of my family and the wonderful people of Uasin Gishu County to the family of the late Gov. (Dr). Wahome Gakuru and the great people of Nyeri County. As we condole this great man, we are really saddened more because the people of Nyeri have had to bury two governors within a year. 7 Nov 2017 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. From the outset I wish to thank Sen. Kihika for moving this Motion. I agree with the Senator for Turkana that it is long overdue. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, the environment is a very important part of life in every society. As populations grow urban areas grow and with urban areas growing we have a lot of material flowing into those areas. I happen to be an environmentalist myself, and specifically a soil scientist. I have been involved in a United Nations (UN) ...

27 Sep 2017 in Senate:
Mr. Speaker, Sir,I thank Sen. Mwaura for this Motion to discuss the current political situation in the country. The sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya and the only way to exercise it is through the Constitution that we have. It is one which all of us were involved in developing. It took a very long time and at the end of it, in 2010, wedelivered a Constitution that we were all satisfied will govern our conduct and the way we do things in this country. The sovereign power under this Constitution is delegated to the different organs. One ...

27 Sep 2017 in Senate:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. It is my appeal that we need to seriously consider how we carry ourselves as leaders. I appeal to both sides of the House that we must carry ourselves in a manner that will be able to build not only peace, but also bridges with those who are hurting and respect the institutions that we have; the Supreme Court being one of them. More so, we need to ask ourselves how we will ensure that the people will express their free will. Their free will can only be expressed in the numbers during voting, ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank you for giving me an opportunity to support this Motion of Adjournment. Before I make my remarks, I thank the people of Uasin Gishu County for giving me the opportunity to be their second Senator. I also thank the two counties that gave us two women Senators; Nakuru and Isiolo counties. This is history in the making. We appreciate. It then means that we do not only have nominated women in this House but we have elected women as well who will vote on their own rights. I support this Motion of Adjournment because of ...

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Motion for Adjournment. I will take the three minutes.
