Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is very important that farmers are also recognized as an entity that is stabilizing the country politically, economically and socially. This is because without food, you cannot have anything. But until we recognize our farmers as an entity that stabilizes the country rather than looking at them as businessmen, we will not be able to move far. Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to add onto the voices of others in congratulating the Minister for bringing a land policy at this time. It is a shame that we have not had a policy on land since Independence because it would have solved a number of things. It is an embarrassment and a shame that we are still talking about squatters and IDPs many years after Independence. Squatters, as we know, were created before Independence.
