  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was answering and then she stood up. Unfortunately, they do not have the patience to allow the Assistant Minister to answer in full. The work on the Prime Minister’s house or whichever house was built--- view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Vice-President’s house was not being handled by the Ministry of Housing. It was being handled by the Ministry of Public Works. We deal with housing for slums, civil servants and we manage already Government built houses. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, you did not hear. However, I would--- view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I said ironically speaking, even the hon. Member asking that question is from Nairobi and so, she knows about the Kibera Project. She cannot say that we are not doing anything. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, if there was anything like that, it was not intended. However--- view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, if I said it, I withdraw. But I do not recall. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it seems like only the other side heard. However, whether said or not, I withdraw. Can that settle the matter? If they have any projects we can do for them, we will be more than willing. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have earmarked funds for upgrading the Mariguini slum. That means we have started the project of engaging the communities into discussions, sensitization and mobilization. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the hon. Member is discussing while I am answering him. He will miss what I am saying; then he will say I did not answer him properly. So, what formula are we using? One, we go and visit the slums and identify the priorities from the communities. What do they want first? Is it water? Is it roads? Is it schools? Is it halls? Is ... view
  • 21 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the 2004/2005 Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Report. However, I wish that we were dealing with the report for 2006/2007 or 2008/2009 Financial Year today. If we are still dealing with the Report for 2004/2005, it means that we are still very far from putting our act together. I am grateful to the hon. Member of the Committee who has just finished his contribution in support of the Report. The Kshs17 million and many other figures in- between display a lot of mismanagement of public funds. We have a management problem in ... view
  • 13 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Backbenchers are insulting us and that is not acceptable! Secondly, we are Ministers. As a Member of the Government, I am very much aware that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government has been overseas. He has just returned to a new organizational structure, including the Assistant Minister. Have some grace and accept that we are not angels but we are performing. For your information, hon. Mungatana, we are not tired old men. I am a woman, spiritually filled, anointed and God fearing. I am also still very ... view
