  • 12 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for equally giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the Motion which Members are deliberating on. view
  • 12 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this Motion by the Member for Garissa Township is very timely. This country is facing a very serious drought, which is majorly affecting the pastoralist- dominated areas, including my constituency. The livelihood of the pastoralist community entirely depends on livestock. We do not have farms to grow maize and other plantations. As pastoralists communities, we only rear cows, camels and goats. Now, with the weather patterns, there is no rain. The pastoralist communities are thus exposed to real danger, where their animals are dying for lack of pasture, and people are also dying. I really would ... view
  • 6 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this particular ratification between Kenya and America on the Air Transport Agreement between Kenya and the United States of America. It is actually an opportunity that Kenyans need to grab and run with. America and Kenya are extending a hand towards each other in form of the handshake that we have witnessed between Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga and our President, Hon. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. The company which is actually registering to join cooperation with Kenya, I am told is an airport transport services company called FedEx. ... view

  • 3 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Waqf Bill. Waqf, as it is written or as it is understood in the Islamic faith, is any contribution, whether in terms of money or material, that is contributed for the sake of the Almighty God. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is the commandment of Allah, the creator of this universe, who has guided human beings to contribute because Allah loves those who contribute, give money and part of their wealth towards supporting the less fortunate people amongst our communities. An able Islamic ... view
  • 3 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: have a lot of questions, but when it comes to Waqf, that is money you have dedicated to support some children, primary schools and hospitals. They cut across the country. It is up to the management of waqf to determine what they should give to schools and the poor. Some people need shelter. We are told that a similar law was approved by the Cabinet in 1954, but it has not been actualised. Hon. Duale needs to be applauded for his effort to bring about this Bill. People of other faiths can also emulate this initiative. We also have many ... view
  • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. Indeed, I stand here to support the passage of the Equalisation Fund. Unfortunately, from the time the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, was enacted, the Equalisation Fund has never been operationalised. Now that the National Treasury has come up with a framework, a statutory requirement to have the Fund operational, I support the idea that the Equalisation Fund should be under the supervision of the Members of Parliament just like the NG- CDF is doing today. As much as devolution is being appreciated by Kenyans, there are a lot of ... view
  • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: The Equalisation Fund is putting many people on board. We are going to have a board at the county, and another board at the national level. So, you are trying to make this process The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: cumbersome. It would have been better if we just came up with one committee at the national level that will deal with all this. The fact that we have Members of Parliament from the affected regions, which are the pastoral dominated areas which have been lagging behind in terms of development, it will be prudent if this Fund is managed at the national level and to involve Members of Parliament, for the areas to come up to speed to the level where other Kenyans are. With those few remarks, I support. view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to the Motion on the Report of the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare on the Petition regarding the deplorable working conditions of workers at Kwale International Sugar Company Limited. Indeed, allegations can be cooked against any company or investor stating different aspects that are happening within that company. We must, indeed, also safeguard the interests of the investors who happen to bring their money into the country without allowing them to violate the laws of the country. Kenyans at large are known to be very ... view
