Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this very important and timely Motion. We have experienced a very dry spell in many of our semi-arid counties. We have lost livestock because of drought and lack of water. Therefore, I want to congratulate my colleague for bringing such an important Motion. I think we should not only emphasize that the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development should come up with mechanisms of water management, but we should also encourage the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries to look into harvesting run-off water. Water ...

Harvesting and managing water is a good idea for this country and especially now when we are facing food shortage. We need to encourage more people in this country to do irrigation and grow crops with harvested water, instead of us importing food. This Motion has come at the right time. We need to implement it and encourage the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries to adapt ways of harvesting and managing water so that, as a country, we can sustain our food production and also export it. This will only happen if we encourage our people to irrigate their ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to also contribute to this very important Bill. I also want to add my voice to this Bill. It has come at the right time. It is high time we regulate that very important sector. Health is a very important basic need. We need to make sure that we regulate that sector so that Kenyans can be served in a proper way. Clinical officers should be trained and given licences to operate without giving them a hard time. When we go round in our counties, we see many people ...

medicine or staff and other counties doing it properly. The health function should have remained with the national Government. This Bill has come at the right time. We need to set standards for training our clinical officers, registration and also licensing so that they can operate in a conducive manner when they are serving Kenyans. I support the Bill.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Bill. I want to congratulate my colleague for having thought of this important Bill. I want to urge my colleagues from all parties to take this Bill seriously. I would not wish to see anybody politicising this Bill. Livestock and livestock products - and mostly livestock keepers - contribute to the economy of this country. They also contribute to the amount of food that is consumed in this country. Therefore, to streamline this sector is a very important move in our country. At ...

Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to also contribute to this important Bill. At the outset, I want to oppose. I want to tell Kenyans that this Bill is a public relations game that is being played. It has been brought to the House to show that Parliament is doing something about gender. I oppose this Bill because it is withdrawing all the gains that we have made under the new constitutional dispensation. Kenyans fought for the new Constitution. Women stand to gain a lot from the new Constitution. Today is a very sad day for ...
