Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support the Petition by our able, Sen. Halake, who is also the Chairperson for Center for Multi-Party Democracy (CMB). We are nearing the general elections, which are about eight months away. Most of us here, especially nominated women Senators do not have funds. We look forward to being funded by partners from other countries. However, it is disappointing to get such a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is an able Ministry in Kenya. Most of the parties do not have money. We have discovered that even ...

about elections, educate other Members, as well as manage their own election. Most of us are aspirants and we are looking for money all over. We do not need to steal this money. We need to create a good rapport with other countries and partners that are engaged in Kenya, to assist us finance this election. However, when we get such a communication, it kills the morale of women leaders and those who are aspiring to become women leaders in Kenya. Not all finances are here to support people who are aspiring. The rich will continue to be rich and ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. It is not Sen. Stewart Madzayo, it is Sen. Naomi Shiyonga. I want to thank you for giving me this opportunity to support our own report of the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare brought on this Floor of this House by our able chair, Sen. Sakaja. Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I am not saying everyone, but most of them especially in Saudi Arabia just from the report. I just want to say that I totally support the travel suspension to Saudi Arabia. It need be, let it be indefinitely until they come to a conclusion that the treaties, act, policies and framework is put into place to protect our Kenyans and streamline the livelihood from labour migration that we have here in Kenya. The ministries should be up in arms to know that Kenyans are suffering. Let them not just sit in those offices ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I want to join my colleagues, especially Sen. Cherargei, to welcome the MCAs of Nandi. Nandi is my neighbouring county on the escarpment. Therefore, I cannot sit in this House without welcoming my neighbouring county. I come from Kakamega County and I am proud to have good neighbours like you. Here is where laws are made and I know you do the same. When we implement things, we get you at the grassroots level, who support us fully. We are proud of you. Continue with that energy. We are here to make sure that we ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to join you and my other colleagues in welcoming Sen. Ngugi. I appreciate his Speech, especially where he remembered the mighty, the leadership that enabled him to be here and the colleagues that he will work with. We, the Nominated Senators, have grown in this House. The support we have gotten from our friends, especially the hon. Members in the Senate, has been overwhelming. Therefore, I encourage him to take up the mantle. It is God’s wish that we had to lose Sen. Prengei. We cannot fault Him because his ...
