Historically, the death of a partner was the most common cause of single parenting. Today, there are many cases of single parenting caused by, among others, abandonment, teenage pregnancies, et cetera. Countries such as Hungary now consider single parents as full parents with equal rights. Therefore, children from single parents are treated equally with those with both parents. view
