We need to understand how they secured this kind of a loan, how they spent this kind of money and what they did with Rivatex East African Limited. This Mediation Committee started its work on Thursdays, 19th September, 2024 pursuant to Article 113(4) of the Constitution of Kenya. The Committee was able to agree on a version of the Bill within 30 days from the first sitting. The reason we, in the Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources, had initially thought that it is important that we transfer this to the county governments was so that we try and be compliant with the Constitution.
