Millie first thought about becoming Mbita MP at age 13. The graduate of University of Nairobi School of Law has worked as a lawyer and women and children rights activist. The CRADLE is one of the MP’s dream come true. She founded the organization that promotes the rights of children since 1997. Millie has received the YWCA Democracy Award and the Eve woman of the year for human rights and gender. Her political tipping point came when she served as a delegate at the Bomas of Kenya, during the constitutional drafting process. ODM party nominated her to Parliament 2008 and she clinched the Mbita seat in the 2013 election.

do not want to dwell on his CV. This is what we call res ipsa loquitur in law, which means that the facts speak for themselves. So, I do not want to add to his CV. Let me caution, as my brother did, that for those of us who have been elected, when you come with the highest number of votes, the greatest challenge you face is the crisis of expectation. For Prof. Magoha, his greatest challenge will be the crisis of expectation. People will be expecting very highly of him especially because of the accolades he has received. I ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I apologise for raising this point of order. I should have seen you earlier on this. Unfortunately, because of our duties as Members of Parliament, I was following up a case of a man who was supposedly killed by his 23 year old girlfriend. I was assisting the wife to go and take the post- mortem. However, fortunately or unfortunately, the man has resurrected in his home in Rangwe one hour ago. I have just come from Chiromo Mortuary. I wanted to propose a Motion of adjournment of the House on a matter of national interest. ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. The man has resurrected in Rangwe Constituency. So, we are happy that he has resurrected. If, indeed, he is a live, I will urge the police to take serious action against him because the wife created drama with a six month old child in my office because the husband was supposed to be dead.

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I am sorry. I will go back to the issue. The issue of concern to me and which I wanted to bring next week is because women will not forgive us if we do not raise it today. This is because there is an issue of reproductive interest for women. This matter has even been reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). It is on sanitary towels and it is affecting women...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker for indulging me. As a follow up to what Hon. Junet has spoken about - I am not doubting the explanation that has been given by the Speaker - I am curious about how the two reports landed on the Speaker’s desk for approval. This sets a very bad and dangerous precedent because the Speaker’s Office can easily be given a wrong report to sign. Hon. Speaker, we do not expect you to have time to go through the pages and volumes of reports. It is expected that the work of scrutinizing is done elsewhere, but ...

complaints that, probably, committees of this House, sometimes, do not act in a manner that upholds the integrity of the House. So, in my view, although you have made a ruling, I was just asking for this House to be certain and satisfied that there was no mischief. That neither a Member nor the Members of this Committee or even the Clerk’s Office, tried to play games by introducing a report in this House that is not factual and approved by the Committee. Therefore, this matter needs further investigation. This House has a way of investigating such matters. If you ...
