  • 19 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: I have heard hon. (Ms.) Joyce Lay asking how we are expected to do that. It is biblical, as a Christian, you must submit to your husbands. view
  • 19 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: I want to tell men that the Bible tells you to love your wives even as Christ loved the Church. How did Christ love the Church? • 19 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: died for the Church on the cross. You men were able to die for us in the cross. We will submit until we become mittens. We will submit until we die. Also if you read Corinthians 13, it tells you that love is patient and love is kind; love does not keep a record of wrongs. Hon. Speaker, love endures. • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Sorry, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I was consulting. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to support the Bill. I want to thank the hon. Member for bringing the Bill. It is a timely Bill. If you know from the statistics that we have been given, the incidences of HIV/AIDS are alarmingly high in this country. It is against a scenario with dwindling resources for dealing with the scourge. It is, therefore, important that we have a legal institution that has the mandate of dealing with it. • 30 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Government to set aside resources to cater for the disease. That way, we will not rely entirely on external funding to deal with HIV/AIDS. Another issue of concern to me is that the persons who are most heavily affected with HIV/AIDS are women and the young persons. I want to encourage that we put in place strong awareness campaigns. I know the issue of stigma has gone down but it is still a big challenge. I have noted, especially in my constituency, that the issue of stigma is no longer the main issue. But the issue of nutrition is a ... view
  • 24 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to ask the Leader of the Majority Party, in terms of the issues that he has raised about next week’s order of business. My concern is that we are trying to give time. I do not know if the Government is sleeping on the job. We have many constitutional Bills but you find that it is only Private Members Bills that are being brought. What I would need him to clarify is whether the Government is sleeping on the job. view
  • 24 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Secondly, I need your direction on an issue under Article 27 of the Constitution, on discrimination. I have been waiting for a kamukunji . The leadership of this House mistreats CORD. This matter is going to blow up. You always chase Members from one side of the House. I am not talking of you as the presiding officer now. I am talking about the leadership of this House. Please, note that we were elected in the same way as TNA and URP Members were elected. We demand to be treated with respect, equality and dignity as provided by the Constitution. ... view

  • 24 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, please, indulge me for a second because I am feeling it in my heart. The next moment I will blow up! Last time, I almost threw a glass at the Speaker. I am very honest. view
