Millie first thought about becoming Mbita MP at age 13. The graduate of University of Nairobi School of Law has worked as a lawyer and women and children rights activist. The CRADLE is one of the MP’s dream come true. She founded the organization that promotes the rights of children since 1997. Millie has received the YWCA Democracy Award and the Eve woman of the year for human rights and gender. Her political tipping point came when she served as a delegate at the Bomas of Kenya, during the constitutional drafting process. • 25 Jun 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I would like to raise a point of order in relation to the Victim Protection Bill, which does not appear on the Order Paper. I have had an informal discussion with hon. Jakoyo Midiwo, who sits in the House Business Committee. He told me that the issue was raised at the House Business Committee and that the Committee directed that the Bill comes up for debate next week. It is important that I put it on record that the matter was raised last week and the Speaker had directed that it comes up for debate ... view
