Millie Grace Akoth Odhiambo Mabona

Millie first thought about becoming Mbita MP at age 13. The graduate of University of Nairobi School of Law has worked as a lawyer and women and children rights activist. The CRADLE is one of the MP’s dream come true. She founded the organization that promotes the rights of children since 1997. Millie has received the YWCA Democracy Award and the Eve woman of the year for human rights and gender. Her political tipping point came when she served as a delegate at the Bomas of Kenya, during the constitutional drafting process. ODM party nominated her to Parliament 2008 and she clinched the Mbita seat in the 2013 election.

There are some hon. Members who have them and others do not have. I saw somebody who was circulating them. In the meantime, I can explain them because they are fairly simple. Members have not received a copy of this amendment it reads as follows:- I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 2(2) be amended by inserting the following new paragraph at the end “until after the first elections under the Constitution, any appointments that are to be made by the President shall be done in accordance with Section 29(2) of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.” view
