Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, first of all, may I congratulate the able hon. Member for Turkana Central and a pastoralist like me for considering to improve the plight of IDPs in this country. Clashes, like the pastoral clashes, have never been considered in these Bills. Today, we have a Bill before this House that is an all-inclusive. I am sure that this Bill will be a milestone in his career. We, as a Government, fully support it and we will make sure that it becomes an Act soonest ...

I understand that there ...

We do not want a situation where politics ...

The crops affected were mainly maize, beans, Irish potatoes and some horticultural crops. (b) My Ministry cushions farmers by providing relief food to vulnerable populations in areas affected by severe drought or an unexpected crop failure. Kieni District has pockets of arid and semi-arid areas and the Ministry has been proving relief food to the affected populations in these areas. In the event that the number of vulnerable population increases due ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, my Ministry officials will be going round the country, especially the arid areas to ascertain the level of hunger in those areas. A report will be tabled here and appropriate action will be taken to increase the food rations. That is if the results show that the drought is biting.

Yes, the Ministry has an early warning system and that is what we are doing now. We just know that the budget has been approved to make us move on. So, we will move with speed and I promise in the next three weeks, we will be able to give that report.
