  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, is the Hon. Member for Suna East in order to mention that there are two Somalis in this House instead of referring to them to as Hon. Members of Parliament? view

  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I want to bring to the attention of the House that gambling is a very crucial thing. It is a very critical thing for our society. Societal aspects and impacts must be examined before any amendments are considered. The effects of gambling on the society are obvious and well recorded. Given that that is the position, increment of tax will discourage many people from it. Just like in developed countries, they have put higher taxes on cigarettes, alcohol and all that addictive items. I oppose this amendment. Higher tax is more preferable in this ... view
  • 27 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you. Apologies. I was not agitated but I wanted to raise this. We are holding this country into shackles or chains. We want our professionals to develop, practise and deliver. Therefore, we should not be living in the old days thinking that private practitioners cannot deliver truthfully and justly. Therefore, we must support private practitioners the way we support private medical practitioners who take care of us. We should be allowing professionals who can deliver and represent this country. • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for this opportunity. I want to thank Allah, the Almighty, who has given me this opportunity to be here in the 12th Parliament. I also want to thank my constituents who overwhelmingly decided that I become their leader in the 12th Parliament. There is obviously importance in their decision which was decisive. • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: election considered every person in this country despite their creed, colour and gender. Those are some of the most important things that the President touched on and we do concur with him. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: What is also important for me to say today is that the people of the northern part of Kenya are facing a considerable amount of drought. Drought has bedevilled the society for over 20 years and has cost us many lives, livestock and livelihoods. Therefore, it is important for our countrymen and women to gather together in prayers in support of the communities that face that disaster. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: It is quite painful since many of our livestock have died and many people in our society have moved across the borders in search of pasture and water. These people still remain out of the country and for them to come back, it is important for this country to mitigate a plan for them to come and live in their country for the purpose of their livelihoods within the borders. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: On a light note, the Member for Mwea has said that he might be coming with some Basmati Rice in this place to trade. I might be walking with some cows into the Chamber - on a light note – from my livestock herders. We feed the country with meat and, therefore, we need to support the communities of herders through trade to improve their livelihoods. With those remarks, I thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. view
