It is true that the NLC has a duty to devolve itself to the counties, just like the Ministry of Land, Housing and Urban Development and other Government entities have done. The NLC can have members of staff on the ground, but not necessarily the board. The county land management boards were deleted from the principal Act through yesterday’s amendment. I oppose the amendment. view

I rise to support that amendment for the simple reason that community land has been subjected to a lot of abuse by a few individuals. It was necessary for us to lift up the threshold so that, at least, two-thirds majority is needed in terms of anything that is done on community land. I support. view
