  • 31 Jul 2013 in Senate: As we debate about this Motion, I would like us to debate public hospitals. Let us not talk about government hospitals because we cannot compare private and public hospitals. The other working force is different from the government hospitals. We should learn to appreciate the medical fraternity and we should walk in those hospitals with a positive attitude. We are also supposed to smile at them the same way we expect them to smile at us. view
  • 31 Jul 2013 in Senate: Therefore, we should change our attitudes towards these people just the same we have come a long way in this country to embrace the police. When the patient dies, then it becomes big news. We have been subjected to even relatives slapping us and psychiatric patients beating up nurses but it is never news. view

Madam Temporary Speaker, we have what we call zoonotic diseases, which are normally caused by the animals and passed on to human beings. So, by ensuring that our livestock are free from diseases, we will also be doing a lot of justice to Kenyans. Therefore, there is need for a lot of awareness amongst the livestock farmers, starting with the counties.   • 15 May 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I support this Motion. I come from Kilifi County where we sometimes take even four hours from the airport to get to town. That is barely some few kilometres from the main roundabout, that is, Changamwe Roundabout. Madam Temporary Speaker, the road networking or infrastructure is the backbone of any area. This is because once the road is done, then everybody is helped, whether they are using a bicycle, bus or whatever. So, without roads, this will be very difficult for us.
