  • 23 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is obvious from the answer given by the Assistant Minister that he may not have the requisite details, but the land that they have purchased in Molo is not adequate. Could he inform the House what other plans they have to purchase more land? Could he also inform the House whether they will provide more money to purchase land in the coming budget? view
  • 23 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, there seems to be a very big problem concerning the project that hon. Mirugi is talking about. This is because, as you approach Nakuru Town, you will find that there are houses that need to be demolished, because they are built where the road is likely to pass. I think this Question should be directed to the Ministry of Roads and Public Works. They have closed part of the road and, yet, nothing is going on. Could this Question be redirected to the Ministry of Roads and Public Works, because I think that is where the ... view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Lands:- (a) whether he could explain which land has been purchased by the Government and what areas within the country will benefit from the Kshs400 million set aside in the Financial Year 2006/2007 to settle squatters and the landless; and, (b) what plans he has to settle tribal clash victims and the landless in Molo Constituency. view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is the correct position. However, this Question does not ask for too much information. The information should be stored in the computers in the Ministry. We can allow them up to Tuesday, next week. view
  • 16 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Roads 2000 Programme is in my district. However, they are so slow. The main problem is tendering and procurement. What is the Ministry doing to ensure that procurement does not take about six months? view
  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister should take this Question with the seriousness it deserves. Out of that poisoning--- Sorry, out of the perception that there is a community that poisoned another one, we have had quite a number of people killed. view
  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am talking about the perception from one community that they were poisoned by the other community. Out of this, five people were killed and property destroyed. That is why we are saying that the Assistant Minister is saying this is the likelihood. They have the samples! Why can they not tell us what was the problem with the water? On the ground, some people are saying that they were poisoned, yet the Assistant Minister does not know what was detected in the laboratory. Could we have this Question deferred because this is very important? This ... view
  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you have seen the extent of the circulation of the leaflets in the country. They have been circulated in almost seven districts. I wonder why the National 1308 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES May 15, 2007 Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) cannot nab them. There are many roadblocks on our roads. These people must be using vehicles. How come they can circulate leaflets for almost three weeks without being arrested? Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also want the Assistant Minister to throw more light on the Kuresoi incident. It is a fact that he was aware that there was a problem after ... view
