Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I think we are going to an over kill. If you look at Clause 16, and I just want to specifically draw the Members to Clause 16(5), it says very clearly that:- “(a) notwithstanding any directions to the contrary under sub- section 4, a State officer shall not influence the award of a contract to- (a) himself or herself. (b) the State officer’s spouse or child. (c) a business associate or agent. I would like to appeal to hon. Members to consider one thing; that the more we prolong resolution on this issue, the more we delay the process of activating a number of issues regarding devolution. The other aspect that I would want to point out is that, if we had had time to also look at the Order Paper and the way it is being proposed, you would find that we are finding a solution which does not negate the role of the Governor.
