The Members of my Committee will bear me witness that I have been reluctant to bring any recommendations to this House without having the comfort of knowing that the relevant Committee has met with the spending agents. That has been the way we have always worked. view

• 8 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: Can I, however, very humbly perhaps suggest that instead of putting the extra sitting on Tuesday, you consider putting it on Thursday so that it gives us enough time, as a Committee, to deal with the matters on Tuesday and Wednesday. My problem is that many Members are going to campaign, but that is your decision. We stand a better chance of having time to consult if we do it on Thursday morning, but if you say on Tuesday, I stand guided. view
