On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. It is on the same note Sen. Murungi has raised. I think Sen. Bule said that they do not fear Al-Shabaab or the bandits because they know how to deal with them and they actually know them. I think those are very grave statements from an honourable Member. You may want to give guidance on this.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would also like to briefly add my voice to this very important issue. As much as we would not really bother about it, since once a function has been devolved it cannot revert back to the national Government, those who want it brought back to the national Government are creating a perception that devolution is not working. They believe it cannot work. They think health workers in counties are not working. They feel health facilities are all in shambles and not useful to our people. The Senate will not allow this. Devolution must be ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the report of the Joint Committee that was vetting the nominee for the post of Inspector-General. As a country, we know how important this matter is to us. After the former Inspector-General, Mr. Kimaiyo, and also Mr. ole Lenku, Kenyans have been looking forward to having these people in place. We now have Maj-Gen. (Rtd.) Nkaisserry in office and I am very hopeful that we will have Mr. Boinett as the Inspector-General of Police. We hope that the security situation will be addressed. I also believe that the Joint Committee sat together, interrogated ...

Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to this very important Motion. I would like to congratulate my fellow young Senator, Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr., for coming up with this Motion, which in the recent times is one that really excites me. This is because it touches on the core issue of why we represent our people and that is safeguarding their lives. On this issue of boundaries, when you look at the reverse of what has been happening, if we are not bold enough to actually move with speed with what this ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to also add my voice on this important issue that is being discussed in this House. The lawyers have spoken and even those who were in Parliament before when the rulings were being made by Speaker Marende. Personally, I have been quietly following and listening to the debate. It is important to note the timing of even bringing the Motion to this House. Many Kenyans have been asking and raising issues that this is a very important matter that needs to be discussed. They are asking why the Senate is ...
