The amendment I am moving is to allow Clause 7 (1) (c) to go as per the provisions of the Constitution which provides that the people to be appointed have knowledge and experience of, at least, ten years in public administration, human rights and governance and exclude law and economics as in the proposed amendment. view

However, looking at the mood of the House--- What I was against is why, me, as an engineer should be excluded from this Commission. I believe engineers can serve in this Commission. • 19 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I had suggested that to avoid conflict with the Commissioners, this Parliament should define the roles of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) because we have seen these conflicts. I am sure you must have seen what appeared in the public about two months ago about the conflicts in the Interim Independent Boundaries Review Commission (IIBRC). I would beseech the Minister that as Parliament is making the enabling law, we should have gone a step further to define the qualifications of the Secretary and also his role as the CEO so that we avoid conflicts with the ... view

He was working at State House.
