  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: I had made a request to the Attorney-General, the Commissioner of Police and the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security requesting the status of the same inquest file on 11th December, 2008. That inquest file that was opened way back in 2007. I wish to table the letter which was not replied to! view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: More importantly, the same kind of inquest file was opened for Abdi Rashid Daran in 2008. The Assistant Minister has the courage to tell this House that to date, they are still awaiting official response from the Attorney-General’s Chambers. Time and again, we have had to put similar questions to ask the Minister. How long does it take to conclude an inquest? What is the average time required by the police to conclude an inquest file that is open? view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister seems to be misleading this House, because he is not stating that Mr. Thunguri, whom the Administration Police officers were looking for was not with the two. So, why would these Kenyans run away upon seeing Administration Police officers in uniform, yet they had been seeing uniformed police every other day? view

  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister alleges that is my document. That is a police document. The fact that I brought it to the House does not make it my document. The authenticity of that document is only assumed due to the fact that it was issued by his office. So, he should not allege that, that is my document. view
  • 28 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I laud you for your ruling. Arising from your direction, would I be in order to request that when the Assistant Minister comes with the sufficient answer, he also comes with the statements of the witnesses, which were recorded at the police station. view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I had sought for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Information and Communications before this House adjourned last time. However, I have been getting promises that are never forthcoming. Could I get an indication when this Statement can be ready? view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Minister, in his contribution to the Motion for Adjournment, said something about what happened on telecommunications and the SMSs I referred to. However, that does not amount to him issuing a Ministerial Statement which he owes to this House. view
  • 27 Oct 2010 in National Assembly: His Assistant Minister made an undertaking that they were to issue a Ministerial Statement on Wednesday. Therefore, for him to say that his contribution to the Motion for Adjournment is equivalent to him giving a Ministerial Statement is to ridicule this House; he wants to take this House for granted. view
