  • 20 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the HANSARD will confirm that the Minister said, while trying to dodge Dr. Khalwale's request, that he visited the site, spoke to the contractor, and he takes it as the official position that the contractors are on site. How many contractors are within Nairobi and when you call them they tell you that they are on site? Could the Minister tell us who he confirmed from within his Ministry, so that he can give the official position as that the contractors are really on site, and that his officers spoke to them? view
  • 20 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: 4230 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES January 20, 2009 view
  • 16 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of information, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not convinced by the Minister's argument. This is not a new park. This lodge was not established just the other day. Before this management came in, workers were allowed to go into the park with their families. It is the new management that has introduced these new rules. What informed this decision? Were animals imported into this park so recently, that it warranted this insecurity issue for children and spouses? What informed this? What trend is there? view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Minister has not answered by question. If there is an insecurity issue, there has to be a trend that must have informed the decision that it is dangerous to take children to the park. How many children have died in the park since Independence from wildlife-related injuries? view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. I wish to seek the indulgence of the Chair to make it clear whether the Constitution of Kenya allows civil proceedings against the President. That is because a petition, like an election petition, I thought is a civil proceeding and it does happen in this country. view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: I was referring to hon. Githae's assertion just to set the record straight. view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I think hon. Kazungu's allegations are really grave. He needs to substantiate his allegations. If the Government is, indeed, importing maize at the price of Kshs3,400 per bag and selling the same product at Kshs2,000 per bag, I think it is something we cannot condone. Could the hon. Member substantiate his claims? view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, is it in order for the hon. Member to claim that the Government is importing maize at Kshs3,400 per bag when we know that this Government cannot joke or lie to Kenyans? view
  • 27 Nov 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Muslim youth in this country has not benefitted from this YEDF because of the interests involved. With the introduction of Islamic banking in this country, 3658 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES November 27, 2008 there could be room for the Muslim youth to benefit from this YEDF. What initiative is the Assistant Minister taking to ensure that the YEDF conforms with the Muslim teachings, so that the Muslim youths in this country are not locked out of this opportunity? view
