  • 20 Dec 2022 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank you for looking this way. If you listened to the argument that Sen. Mungatana is making, he is actually giving a legitimization and expression as to why he thinks we need to go and hold this exercise in Committee. Already, the presentation has been made by none other than the Senate Majority Leader, who said that both options are on the table. I do not understand why he is arguing that according to him, the best way to conduct this exercise is through Committee and yet as Members of the Senate, we must be allowed ... view

  • 20 Dec 2022 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, please excuse me. I have a flu so my voice is not very good. I would like to say just a few words in my contribution to this matter. The reason is that the expectation of Kenyans on this matter is very high. The reason for that is that this is the first Impeachment Motion to be tabled on the Floor of this House since the last general election. I wish that we take the evidence as it would come and analyse it effectively, honestly and with fairness. The presentations that will be made should reflect fairness ... view
  • 10 Nov 2022 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to emphasize that after listening to Sen. Crystal Asige raise the issue on how we can be sensitive to people with visual disability or impairment, it makes sense for the Committee responsible to take this matter seriously. We need to relook at the standardization of our buildings and ask ourselves whether windows and doors are well designed to ensure that such people can have easy access in case of an emergency. This is a very sensitive issue and we need to look into it urgently. I thank you. view
  • 9 Nov 2022 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. After such lovely words that my brother, the Senator of Meru has said, I also wanted to mention to him--- view
  • 9 Nov 2022 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am sorry for that. My brother, I am sorry. What I wanted to say is that as we were growing up, I happened to have been very lucky that I met Eng. Koome when he was the Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) in Kisii. At that time, I was a student and the history he left behind in Kisii is quite substantive. He is a highly respected man. However, the work ahead of him is substantive because the police service every year ends up maybe being the last department of Government that is highly corrupt. ... view

  • 9 Nov 2022 in Senate: There is thuggery and snatching of bags and mobile phones. These are things that were not happening until very recently. I do not know why. I hope the Government will be seized of this issue and that it will ensure it comes up with policies that will make the National Police Service (NPS) work effectively. I hope it will also make sure that the welfare of police officers is managed better. You have seen statistics of police officers who have been committing suicide. I hope that the NPS will set up a health facility that deals with mental health because ... view
  • 8 Nov 2022 in Senate: I thank you, Mr. Speaker Sir, for allowing me to engage myself on this matter. Without casting aspersions on Sen. Kinyua, I want him to know that it is true that we are on this side, but we are giving them time to try and fix the mess. We could not have rushed last week, on Friday, when the strike started. Secondly, I happen to share one or two friends of mine with you. One of them is a pilot, and he is also your friend. He is actually my brother. His message has been very simple; Kenya Airways (KQ) ... view
