  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I apologise to Mr. Nyachae for anything that I have said and withdraw. view
  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand here to strongly oppose the December 7, 2006 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 4301 adjournment of Parliament at this time. Parliament has a lot in its hand--- view
  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, they have taken so much of my time. A few minutes ago, we were discussing the President's salary. As Mr. Raila said, we should look at this issue in totality. We should know that the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs is also earning peanuts. We should know what the President, the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, Ministers, Assistant Ministers and all hon. Members of Parliament earn. Now, we are being sent home before I know what my brother earns. That is a very serious issue. This is not the time to adjourn Parliament ... view

That means that the harmonisation process started in 2002, and has taken more than four years. If that it not correct, then I do not know what else is correct. Secondly, it is dehumanising for teachers in Rachuonyo District to see their colleagues in neighbouring constituencies being paid hardship allowances in Nyando District, yet Rachuonyo is an ASAL area gazetted by the Office of the President. Could the Assistant Minister give us a specific date as to when the report ... view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Now that the Assistant Minister has accepted that there are not enough places, is it not an honourable thing for him to withdraw and apologise for misleading the House? He misled the House and the Chair has pointed out that he was actually doing that. view
  • 5 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: , on behalf of view
  • 5 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is in the public domain, as the Minister has said, this was "To avail factual information to the public", yet, after the Minister published the names of those December 5, 2006 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 4121 people in the pubic domain, they were appointed as Ministers. Mr. Speaker, Sir, does it meant that if you want to be appointed as a Minister in this Government, you must be involved in some Anglo Leasing type scandals? view
