When you look at the emergency numbers in this country namely; police, Emergency Medical Response (EMS), fire and Coast Guards they are all dead. Nowadays, it is very difficult to have a response on time. During this time of COVID-19 most people are suffering in their houses. view

I support Hon. Theuri and thank the Committee for responding to this within a month. If this is replicated in the whole country and particularly counties, it will be of great help. I confirm to this House that I was called by two purported staff of Infotrak. One was Morris Ondego who told me that they know I want to be the governor of Machakos and so they want to rank me first. He told me to give him Kshs100,000. view

From the outset, let me say I have been a mayor and I think one thing that Kenyans should know is that this locally collected revenue today is pocket money of the Government chiefs. In the wisdom of the Senate and the drafters of this Bill, we should have a system, as they say, that is simple, transparent and easy. • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Kshs500 million. In 2009/2010, we collected Kshs800 million and 2010/2011 it was Kshs1billion. By the time I left, it was Kshs1.5 billion. Always when you have a vision or a mission, everything is possible. But right now, governors are looking at ways of making money. When you go to villages, you will find high rise buildings and many businesses because they are collecting free money. This Bill is going to correct and change this. I support the Bill. However, I agree with Members who have suggested that, like KDF, the police should have a memorial hospital. The Kenya National Police have many training institutions, for example, Kiganjo, Utawala, Magadi and Western. If some of the psychosocial clinics can be established in these colleges, there will be peace. When members of the Police Force fall victims, they can be taken there.
