  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, you know the emotion that it carries. My stake is the people I represent. Once they are hurt, I am also hurt. I know you know, you are a respected man in this country. You have been a Member of Parliament. When we stand here, we are not joking. This country needs taxes. This country needs people to be employed. We The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: cannot afford to come here and do recommendations that are encouraging people to close down industries yet we are going out spending taxpayers’ money to market Kenya. It is time the Chairmen of these Committees knew that every Kenyan has a right to be heard. That is why I am supporting the Committee on Implementation. Go ahead, look to all the reports, particularly the one by the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. Going forward, there is a dossier, which I will table in this House to show that some people were not allowed to give their evidence before ... view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. From the outset, allow me to thank Hon. Florence Mutua for showing true motherhood by adjourning the House to mourn the bereaved. view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Every nation prides in its citizenship. Once the populace is exposed to death in such ways, it hurts. There are 22 roadblocks on the highway from Nairobi to Londiani. What is their use? When you look at the agencies which are involved like the NTSA, the traffic police and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, you wonder whether we are sacrificing Kenyans or happy when our people are dying like this. The speakers are condemning the deaths. Even as we condole with the families who lost their beloved ones, it is very sad. If in one roadblock, ... view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: It is not just about corruption. We should re-think our culture as a nation. For how long are we going to be corrupt? Corruption is fighting back. Our people are dying because of diseases. When you go to hospital, there are no drugs and doctors because of a corrupt person somewhere. He has taken away the funds meant for drugs, doctors and insurance. It is high time we changed our culture. If we have men and women of God, this nation needs spiritual intervention. Otherwise, this fight cannot be fought like that. When you look at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption ... view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Although, Hon. Washiali says he comes from Kakamega, I come from Mavoko where a few families had left Mlolongo to go to Kakamega. I am going to contribute because of a careless policeman, a careless NTSA officer, a careless Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development officer. We must put this to a stop. view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: I support the Motion and I hope those who are culpable will be dealt with severely. view
  • 30 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Allow me to remind this House that Hon. Shakeel used to be the Mayor of Kisumu Town. I want to confirm that all mayors, including myself from Mavoko - and I am sure even Hon. Junet - used to wear the same cap. This kofia used to be a sign power and authority. I am sure Hon. Shakeel this morning must have reminded himself the days and times he used to be a mayor. I think he is rightfully wearing it. view
  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I have not spoken to it. I support this Motion, particularly knowing that coconut is a very difficult tree to grow. For it to grow and start producing coconuts, it takes six to seven years and most of them are naturally grown. The best place to plant or grow it naturally is along the coastal line. I agree with the Mover of the Motion that the Government has to take this seriously by compensating farmers, given that drought took away most of the trees, which was their livelihood. The benefits of coconut range from oil, building ... view
  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: cows and maize farmers that also need to be compensated or supported. This Motion has come at the right time and it is important for us to support it as a House. The Government should consider supporting these farmers because we need to promote the coconut produce. So, I support and I want to thank the Mover. Thank you very much. view
