Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I stand to support the Minister's view on this particular manufacturing company. The company is well known and it is stationed in Naivasha. I have raised a matter before in this House, that its products have been proved to contain methanol which causes people to become blind.

Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, that matter was raised in this House and hon. Miriti responded to it. He told us that KEBS had visited Keroche Industries in Naivasha and confirmed that its products are known to contain methanol. It is in this House's records that any time the company is closed down and the owner is taken to court, he somehow gets himself out of trouble by visiting the District Commissioner and the Provincial Commissioner. He has the muscle of getting away with the problem. This is something that was known a long time ago.

On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. The hon. Member has made a very serious allegation against me, by saying that I am a brewer. He should apologise because I am not a brewer.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Finance the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that following authority to establish constituency offices, Members of Parliament signed lease agreements with landlords and employment contracts with office managers and other support staff? (b) Is he further aware that no funds have been received since July, 2006, to pay for rent and salaries of employees, forcing MPs to bear the costs to avoid litigation? (c) What immediate steps is the Minister taking to ensure that the funds are remitted?

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I do not want to be seen to be arguing with you. However, are you saying that the Question should be addressed to the Speaker himself and not to the Minister for Finance?

asked the Minister for Lands:- (a) whether he is aware that a group known as "Enoosupukia Displaced People Group" of PO Box 73104, Nairobi, has collected monies from the public on false promises that the group had land to settle the landless; and, (b) if the answer to the above is in the affirmative, what action the Ministry has taken to protect the public from the group.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will make the Assistant Minister aware of the group now. I have a receipt from the group, which bears their postal address, mobile numbers and their membership fees. The group also collects people's identity card numbers and none of them exist in the true sense. The only thing I want to do is to make the Assistant Minister aware of it. Could he promise that he will take appropriate action since my people have lost a lot of money after being promised land in Subukia?

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am satisfied with the answer. The Assistant Minister has promised to take some action. I have some documented evidence that this has been going on.
