  • 1 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it beats logic as to why a political entity preparing for elections will be holding meetings with trained military officers as though politics and general electioneering were a military process. This creates fear and if not dealt with may be calamitous to peaceful coexistence in the country. While not wishing to raise this matter as an urgent matter of national importance, I would request that the relevant authority as well as the House Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security and Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations look into these activities. This will go a long way ... view

  • 25 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I would like to support this Motion by hon. Joyce Wanjalah. We have very many language experts who can be able to make this effort of self-liberation possible in Kenya today. Every year we train, examine and also graduate translators and interpreters in our Kenyan universities. Ours is just to give direction to the members of this nation on how we can go on about translating our laws into Kiswahili. To be specific, on 23rd April, 1931 a delegation from Kenya led by James Mutua of Akambaland--- view

  • 25 Mar 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I was saying that a delegation went to England to meet the Queen. To be specific, on 23rd April, 1931 this delegation from Kenya comprised of James Mutua from Akambaland and Ezekiel Apindi of Kavirondo Taxpayers’ Welfare Association. They sent the same sentiments that we are discussing in this House today. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am convinced that if we change and translate our laws into Kiswahili then many laws that are broken by our people will not be broken. In those years of 1930s, the British Government was very concerned because they ... view
  • 19 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I want to pass my condolences to the family of Senator Kajwang’ on my behalf and on behalf of the people of Kiambaa, especially the people who reside in Kiambaa from Mbita. I would like to say that leaders die but their deeds and their ideas are left with us who are living. Hon. Speaker: We will finally have hon. Mbugua. view
  • 7 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I would like to say that I have already spoken to the Chairperson of that Committee. However, there are three issues that I would like to bring to the attention of this House. Many Kenyans in South Sudan are really complaining. I would like to mention three areas where they are very concerned. In the area of banking in South Sudan, they are not doing the best they can do for Kenyans. Most of the banks in South Sudan do not represent the face of Kenya with regard to staffing. The Kenyan community in South Sudan ... view

  • 30 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: In the Statement, the Chairperson should inquire into and report to the House on the following:- (i) whether the transition from the central Government to a devolved system of government based on the pre-agreement between the defunct local authorities and water services companies is still binding; (ii) the status of an agreement between the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, Athi Water Services Board and the former City Council of Nairobi that lapsed two years ago, and whether it has been renewed or renegotiated; and, (iii) whether the assets of the water services companies, including those of the Nairobi Water and ... view
