  • 28 May 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. One of the clear reasons why the Government exists is actually to offer security to human beings as well as their properties. The situation as it is, is not just in Kirinyaga. It is in the whole of Central Kenya! Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, the situation we are dealing with is not just the result of the recent activities. There is a background of protracted negligence of the security apparatus in Central Kenya. Could the Minister tell us what is it that the Government requires so that Parliament and the whole country can know? ... view
  • 28 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have just heard a Member comment that the Standing Orders should be followed. We are dealing with a Ministerial Statement. Therefore, the most we can expect are clarifications. We cannot confer those clarifications to a debating forum. view

  • 27 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also want to contribute to this Motion. The Most important thing that we need to highlight as this House to Kenyans is on the best way forward to relate with Uganda. It is very important for Kenyans to be reminded that Uganda is a sister nation. If we have any problem even with the President of Uganda, it is not a good enough reason for us to actually severe our relations with Uganda. It is very easy for us to beat war drums--- view
  • 27 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, it is very unfortunate that the relationship between the two countries have reached that level. I am only urging this House to bring down tempers. If we hype on this nationalism, there is nothing that will prevent us from going to war which will not benefit anybody. We need good relationship. We need to continue with good business. We also urge the Kenyan Government to firmly resolve this dispute through diplomacy, so that we deny war mongers any opportunity. view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Questioner sought to know whether there is a programme in place for sewerage systems for urban centres. view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I had also asked for a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance. That was on 8th April and it has still not been issued. I had further raised a point on order on it on 14th April. view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: It was about the intended sale of properties owned by Mboi-i-Kamiti Farmers by the National Bank of Kenya (NBK). I had also another request to the Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs relating to the Somali pirates being tried in Kenyan courts. view
  • 19 May 2009 in National Assembly: We will have one more contribution and then I put the Question. view
  • 19 May 2009 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Chanzu! view
