16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it has been suggested more than once to the Assistant Minister that contrary to the official story, which he has been given, there is, indeed, a possibility that these officers were in the course of doing another investigation and that there was a cover up which could have led to their own death. What is the Assistant Minister saying on that? If it is true, can he tell us whether the police are competent, really, to actually do that investigation? Is the Assistant Minister in order to actually avoid responding to that concern of this ...

16 Nov 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise on a point of order to seek a clarification from the Leader of Government Business in relation to the matter of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs and, more particularly, in relation to a communication that was made yesterday from the Chair asking the House Business Committee (HBC) to prioritize two or so Motions that are pending before the HBC and that are likely to assist in normalization of the business of this Committee. It is a matter in the public domain that this Committee has not been functional for almost ...

Secondly, could he also confirm whether this appointment actually upholds the constitutional standard to enhance confidence of Kenyans in Government and public officers, particularly by ensuring that investigations ...

8 Nov 2011 in National Assembly:
Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, what is coming out about the issue of the doctors is really about the priorities of this Government. This Government tells us that, under Vision 2030, it intends to realise maximum possible quality of life for Kenyans. From its formula of a working nation, the Government is certainly telling us that provision of health services can be possible without taking adequate care of the doctors, who are now threatening to resign from their positions because of poor terms of service. Instead of the Government coming up with improved terms of service for the doctors, it just ...

8 Nov 2011 in National Assembly:
Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I would want to thank the hon. Assistant Minister for the attempt to really explore what happened; the unfortunate incidents that have been happening concerning this Mboi-Kamiti Company. It is a constitutional principle that a person is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. There had been threats. He had actually expressed that and reported to the police that he had been threatened. The people who issued those threats are very well known and they even boast around. Have the police taken any action about that? Two, there are certain other persons who even witnessed what happened. There ...
