  • 5 Aug 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I appreciate the sentiments of the Chairman. The fact that I belong to that Committee does not deter me from asking for statements on issues affecting Kenyans. view
  • 5 Aug 2020 in National Assembly: My concerns are very valid. These issues involve the police officers and the public in general. My major concern is the psychological support given to the police officers, more so at a personal level. As we face the Coronavirus pandemic, you will remember there are very many cases where the public has complained about harassment by police officers. So, this is like an emergency. This is because the people are demanding to know what steps are being taken to ensure their security during such a time. If you go through the contents of my Statement, it concerns the police officers ... view

This will be out in public and so there will be fairness. This amendment will also correct some historical injustices. When we talk about regions, when we went back and looked at how the Agricultural Finance Corporations (AFC) funds were distributed, you realise that some areas never benefitted but ... view
  • 30 Jul 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The Bill is timely because we are facing the coronavirus pandemic and many businesses will close down. Therefore, so many might not get an opportunity to get guarantees. So, when such a Bill is in place it will enable small and medium enterprises to access loans to revamp their businesses and participate in rebuilding the economy. Such a move will enable many people who have not invested so much get access to loans for capital. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 6 May 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order No. 44(2) (c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Health regarding measures being put in place to mitigate risks facing residents of border counties with regard to the spread and management of COVID-19. Notwithstanding reports that COVID-19 is quickly spreading in border counties with Migori County having recently registered its first two positive cases, some of the residents of these regions have continued to defy most of the Ministry of Health guidelines and rules regarding social distancing, wearing face masks and crossing the common border ... view
