  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this chance to present this Petition by Methi and Swani Farmers Co-operative Society on fraudulent change of ownership of their land. • 22 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this very important Bill. It is dealing with clinical officers. It is about how to train, regulate and license them. That cadre has suffered for quite a long time. To date, some of them have attained even degrees and they have been in the same position for quite a long time. It is time this Parliament legislated and made sure that they acquired the preferred positions that they deserve. They have been working under very tight conditions. In our rural areas, they are the ones who ... view
  • 22 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: they are considered like doctors who are paid internship allowance while undergoing training in hospitals. When it comes to clinical officers who do the donkey work, they are not given even a token of appreciation for their assistance in health facilities in our country while undergoing training. We appreciate what they do and I congratulate my friend, Hon. Sang, for the role he has played in bringing back sanity to our health facilities. Before I conclude, it is very absurd to see what is happening in this country for more than 70 days our doctors being on strike. I think ... view
  • 5 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance to contribute to this Bill by Hon. Muthomi Njuki. It is high time we started to recognise the history of this country. I was about 14 years when Mzee Jomo Kenyatta died. A promise was made that by the end of 40 years, the mausoleum will be made a public place or his body will be taken where it should be taken. Mzee Jomo Kenyatta marks so many things in this country. He is the founding father of this nation and the founder of the Harambee spirit in this country. ... view
  • 5 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Kenyatta suffered a lot for this country. He travelled out of this country to negotiate for the Independence of this country. It is high time we opened the mausoleum to the public. Let our children understand the history of this country. Other countries, like Members have mentioned, recognise what their leaders did for them. Our country now needs to know why the Committee that planned for the funeral of the late President decided to inter his remains in a public place. They could have interred them in Uhuru Park or somewhere in Gatundu, but they opted for Parliament. This is ... view
  • 30 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I rise to oppose the new clause. We need to encourage our farmers to grow what has ready market. If we say we increase this, we are taking our people back to where they were – taking of illicit brews when we have started seeing the fruits of not taking those brews. People have now started taking Senator Keg, which is brewed using these crops. view
  • 7 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion on allowing KPA to borrow money from the Japanese Government to expand the Mombasa Port. Mombasa is the gateway to this country. It is very good that we give money to enable expansion of the Port. I support the Motion, but with many reservations. Sometimes, it is a big burden trying to get to Mombasa. I would like to request that as we expand the Port of Mombasa, let us look at the time it takes for cargo which comes from Mombasa ... view
