Thank you, Hon. Chairlady for giving me this opportunity. I support the deletion. What we have witnessed as a menace of gambling and betting cannot be dealt with by this taxation. This taxation is directed at the investor as opposed to a way of deterring our children from committing suicide after betting using school fees. They also engage in drug abuse and other anti-social activities that are related to lawlessness and lack of values. If you look at areas which are conventionally coffee or tea areas particularly the big farms, you will find that they have very high poverty levels because children were made to harvest tea, coffee and sisal. What happened in effect is that the children were deprived of the opportunity to get to school and they are unable to cater for their needs as adults because they were put in a disadvantaged position.
