  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I am a Member of the Committee on Implementation. We are dealing with many resolutions passed in this House one after the other. However, we sometimes get frustrations from the relevant ministries. They take a lot of time when you notify them to appear before the Committee to report, give the way forward and write letters. We are doing our best. I will communicate the same to the Chairlady to speed up and do a follow up. It is difficult to deal with the ministries because they take too long to respond to our letters. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving an opportunity to contribute and add my voice to what my colleagues have said. On the outset, I want to thank the President and congratulate him for the well thought Speech. I say this with confidence because he reminded Kenyan leaders about the covenant that our founding fathers had during Independence to take this country forward and unite it. He took a lot of time in the introduction part of his Speech reminding us that 50 years ago our founding fathers had a vision for this county. They knew we ... view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: President Uhuru Kenyatta has faced challenges since he came into power in 2013. He never took this country from a vacuum but from the previous Government. He inherited a Government that had many problems. He has had to fulfill the mandate of the previous Government with all the problems they had. Now he is trying to finish those projects. I am pleading with the Opposition to give this Government another five years’ term to start their own programes and finish them. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I believe from the Speech that the President gave both him and the Deputy President are visionary leaders. That is why they go all over the country assuring the citizens of this country of their mandate. There are many shortfalls but I want to congratulate the Government because of fighting insecurity. In my own constituency and county we have suffered insecurity but for the last 18 months we have had peace. Our people can now move from one county to another. There is a lot of peace and we can see this from what is evident in the constituency and ... view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I want to congratulate the Government because of development in electricity as many of my colleagues have said. There was no electricity in my constituency but now it is there, a place where you could not even think power would reach. I want to thank the President for the vision he has had of ensuring that every primary school has power. I also want to thank the Government for enabling secondary school teachers to release certificates to children who were unable to clear their school fees balance. There are many students who did not go anywhere because many of their ... view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: On infrastructure, I want to plead with the Government to build the road that goes to Kitale, Kapenguria and Lodwar urgently. We are suffering because that is the only road that crosses through Pokot and Turkana and has been completely forgotten since 1994. view
  • 24 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to add my voice to this very important Bill. At the outset, let me say that I support this Bill, which is long overdue. The Office of the Controller of Budget is supposed to have been created a long time ago. We are dealing with limited resources that need to be controlled at all levels. This office will go a long way in trying to minimize corruption and the roadside declaration that politicians and other powerful people in the Executive always do. They go to rallies and say that they are ... view
  • 23 Feb 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. I support it. I want to mention two points. First, it takes a lot of time for this Government to domesticate most of the treaties that we sign. We have signed many treaties. This office should help us, as a country, to domesticate the treaties as fast as we can, so that we are seen globally as cooperating and working with other nations. So, I congratulate the President for ensuring that this office is created very soon, so that it ... view
  • 17 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to support this nominee for the appointment as the Principal Secretary for the Department of Correctional Services. This is a person I know very well. I knew him as a civil servant who has worked tirelessly. I also knew him when he was working for KARI in Mombasa and when he was promoted to head the Cotton Board. He did a wonderful job to bring the parastatal to the level where it is now recognised. So, I have no doubt at all about his capabilities, his hard ... view
  • 17 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Secondly, he is a pastoralist and he knows what the Prisons Department suffers from. With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
