12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The hon. Members should withdraw unreservedly. I have noticed the hon. Member, not only talking to the Chair, but also looking for headlines tomorrow. It is, therefore, appropriate he withdraws without any reservations.

22 Mar 2007 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the hon. Member, who is rather excited that he cannot even see who is speaking here, to impute that the Governor of the CBK was appointed from a club? Could he, please, favour us with a substantiation?

22 Mar 2007 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the hon. Member to be allowed to ridicule this side of the House? He has just March 22, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 85 ridiculed hon. Kimunya as having made an appointment from a club. Now, he continues to say some unkind words about me. If the idea is to ridicule this side of the House and you preside over that, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, is that in order?

22 Mar 2007 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for granting me the opportunity to contribute to this debate. I would have wished to make my contribution when the Leader of the Official Opposition is here, but since he is not here, I trust that the Opposition Chief Whip hon. Muturi, who is here, will convey this message to him. I listened very carefully when hon. Uhuru lamented about multiparty democracy in this country. He exercised his freedom and licence to criticise President Kibaki for the concept of the Government of National Unity (GNU). It is his right to make that criticism. ...

17 Oct 2006 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I would like to thank the Minister for her passion in the way she addresses the health problems facing this country. All the credit is due to her and, of course, to this Government, for the many improvements we have seen in the health sector. For a long time, it was not possible to predict whether you will even get a prescription paper in which the doctor could prescribe medicine for you. Now, the prescription papers are there. When you get a prescription, the chemists at the hospitals give you the required medication ...

27 Jul 2006 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The hon. Member of Parliament is saying that he does not know what Mr. Kirwa may have been given. We also do not know what the other potential importers may have given Mr. Osundwa to make the statement that he is making.

20 Jun 2006 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of reported cases in which the authorities of the United Kingdom and the United States of America have denied some prominent Kenyan nationals entry into their respective countries. The Ministry normally facilitates applications for visas by officials travelling abroad on official business through established diplomatic channels, but foreign missions have the right to issue or not to issue the entry visas. (b) The Ministry is not aware that many other prominent Kenyans including Ministers and Members of Parliament, are being targeted for a possible ban ...

20 Jun 2006 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and I personally have taken up this issue with the United States Embassy over the despicable and disrespectful manner that Kenyans are treated at their embassy when they are looking for visas. I will issue a Press statement very soon but I also request hon. Members to support us on this process. I request the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations Members to meet me as a matter of urgency so that I can update them on some of the steps that I have personally taken. However, I appeal to hon. ...
