  • 31 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am not rising on a point of order against him. I am rising under our Standing Orders to seek your indulgence that we limit time for debate by each Member to five minutes so that several Members can speak on this. view
  • 18 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have only been given one minute, therefore, I just want to touch on one sector which is tourism. For the last three years, the tourists who used to come here have migrated to South Africa and Zimbabwe because they have low taxes. Israel makes a lot of money through tourism. We need to look at the sectors which can generate a lot of revenue for this country. So, I support this Bill about exemption of tax on gate fees charged at the parks. I wish I had more time. Thank you. view
  • 16 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the adoption of the Report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the Government of Kenya Accounts for the 2013/2014 Financial Year. How long will we keep discussing misuse of public resources? Every year, the Auditor-General’s Report indicates that huge amounts of money have been misused. No Accounting Officer has been charged in court or even sacked. Every time we summon Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) or Principal Secretaries (PSs) here, all they tell us is that they will bring us more information on a particular issue. All Ministries have auditors who ... view
  • 16 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: none has been refunded or returned. Therefore, it is just a procedure; we will continue doing the same. This House should come up with a law. I do not know where we will get powers from, just to tame those people, if we want to help Kenyans. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support. view

  • 13 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. Kenyans are tired of listening and watching news of people playing around with their money. I am shocked just as others have said, that a day before this bank was closed, I saw the Governor of the CBK assuring Kenyans that the bank is okay and customers should not worry, only to see customers the following day lining up reading a statement that the bank has been closed. One wonders what happens with the auditors who were in charge of the bank. When new banks are opened, I ... view
