  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: We do not want to make this country look like Johannesburg in South Africa where you cannot walk even during daytime because of crime. view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, can you protect me from the hon. Member behind me although I cannot see him? view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I am sorry about mentioning South Africa. However, people have been attacked in some countries. This is a Christian country and we want to demonstrate that we are Christians. view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Yes, I know Muslims and the others. We do not want to subject women carrying briefcases to Gikomba to wear certain clothes different from the ones they wear while on Kenyatta Avenue. Those are hooligans; they are criminals. That is primitive behaviour. Wherever those people are, they should be arrested and put in. Very soon, our young people will not be able to walk anywhere. I have never seen a country which is so civilised like ours having such gangs engaging in that kind of behaviour. Secondly, we have so many tourists coming to this country. Once they discover what ... view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: 39 Tuesday 18th November, 2014 We just want to request our security agencies to go for these people because cameras captured some of them. Yesterday while I was watching television, I saw some faces were recognisable. I am sure the security agencies can get them. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, we are also going to be afraid. By the time we come out of this House and before we get to Protection House, you are not sure whether you will come back with your skirt or trouser. We can also be stripped naked out there. So, we need protection. view
  • 18 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you so much and those criminals should be brought to book. view
  • 12 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Motion because it is timely. As we request the Government to acquire the land from the Railway Pensioners Scheme for expansion of the roads nearby, we should also urge the Government to consider other roads. The said road should be expanded all the way to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The problem that we have currently is that visitors to this country cannot even be accommodated in city hotels because the traffic jams on our roads is too heavy. Some of them are made to check out of their hotels ... view
  • 12 Nov 2014 in National Assembly: used to link city hotels with the JKIA to ensure that our visitors are not inconvenienced. It will serve as a gateway. Jogoo Road is one of the oldest roads in the City but it has taken so long for it to be expanded. The traffic jam that emanate from it extends to other roads. As we sit here, we cannot say that there is a road on which you can move fast. All the roads leading to and from town are very congested. The road leading to Nyayo National Stadium and JKIA has very serious traffic jams. Therefore, I ... view
  • 30 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the Water Bill. A person like me, who has come from a very dry area, will always stand with people who are supporting this Bill. As we discuss this Bill, we want to make some recommendations to the national Government. During the rainy season, or during the floods, a lot of water goes to waste. They should come up with a strategy of collecting the rain water and conserving it. It can be used in the future in a place like Ukambani. When it rains in Ukambani, water spoils everything. ... view
  • 30 Oct 2014 in National Assembly: I propose that the Government should come up with rules and regulations on how to collect and conserve rain water. The Government should also think of sinking dams and boreholes. That is the only way we can help the people. In Ukambani, there are no irrigation schemes. The only people who are doing irrigation are those who have private dams. They irrigate small pieces of land. There should be water to help people and their animals. We expect to receive rainfall form 15th November, or at the end of November. The national Government, or even the county governments, should come ... view
