  • 3 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: is asking. The law is put so there is clarity. S adaqah is one of the pillars of Islam and you do not choose whom to give sadaqah, you can give it to a Muslim or Christian. However, this is a specific fund that is distributed for an Islamic course. Therefore, it is not right for Mhe. Chris to try and bring confusion here. This should be very clear because I am a Muslim and I pay sadaqah even to Christians. It is so personal that it is said when giving with the right hand even the left hand should ... view
  • 3 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: we feel those who are dead will have life after it goes towards helping them. If they had sinned then their sins are forgiven. Therefore, establishing this Commission will bring a lot of clarity and ensure accountability and transparency in how this fund is regulated. I have just told you about one old man, Sheikh Abdullahi Golicha, who never married in his life because if he had children, probably he thought the money would somehow go to his family. So, he dedicated it and has a waqf built in Isiolo for collecting rent and helping the poor. He is educating ... view
  • 8 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, I will limit them to two minutes. Thank you for giving me the opportunity. As has been said by Hon. Ali Rasso, Isiolo-Marsabit clashes lately have a pattern. They are interconnected and they happen simultaneously. When Marsabit and Moyale people are hit, Isiolo people are also hit. We have reason to believe that these are not the normal pastoralist clashes. These are politically instigated. It has a blessing of a very senior person in the Government who is biased. I am told to name him. I can name him and it is one, Cabinet Secretary, Ukur ... view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I seek to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security regarding the resurgence of banditry attacks and killings in Isiolo County. Hon. Speaker, the insecurity situation in Isiolo County has escalated and reached alarming levels. The residents of Isiolo County can no longer participate in meaningful economic activities due to fear of banditry attacks. The attacks have resulted in loss of lives, loss of livestock and destruction of property. Over the last one month alone, several incidences have been reported to authorities ... view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I did not blame the entire Government, but I said there is one well known person who is behind the organization, mobilisation and funding of the killing of my people. That is what I want the Government to investigate. When they do that, they will know. Otherwise, there is no way in a span of about five days, the County of Isiolo will lose more than 15 people. It does not make sense. So, I want the Government, through the Chair, to investigate and if possible, I would like to be present on the day when this request ... view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, in the interest of the number of people involved, I would really appreciate your kind intervention if the Cabinet Secretary could appear before the Committee so that I can also get an opportunity to sit through and listen and, if possible, even substantiate some of the things I have said. Remember I said this is well coordinated, planned and organized. view
