  • 10 May 2022 in National Assembly: I know some of my colleagues here are veterans and would want to say something about this Bill. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, as a committee, we believe it is a progressive Bill and we truly want to get it concluded in the life of this Parliament. This is so that the next Parliament will recognise that there were Members who thought through this process and appreciated our unsung heroes who have put their lives on the line for the sake of this country. view
  • 10 May 2022 in National Assembly: With that, I second. I can see my Vice-Chairman is here and anxious to speak. He is a son of a former general. view
  • 14 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I beg to lay the following Paper on the Table of the House: Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations on its consideration of the Military Veterans Bill (National Assembly Bill No.4 of 2022). view
  • 30 Mar 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I agree with 100 per cent with my colleagues who have spoken ahead of me. In my life of service, I have had an opportunity of working in the insurance industry; and pretty know the impact of the insurance industry to the economy. If you look at developed countries, they have succeeded because their insurance industries are very strong. The average insurance taker usage in Kenya is about 2 per cent which is a minimal number compared to the potential out there. That is why this Bill is going to help a lot. We are grateful ... view
  • 9 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to also support the Petition. We are all a function and product of teachers. Teachers have done. They have made a lot of contribution to Kenyans up to where we are today. Without teachers, we would not be having the kind of quality of politicians we have in Parliament today. We would not be having the doctors that we have in the country. We would not be having the professionals that we have in the country. We need to appreciate that people fail exams at any given point depending on ... view
  • 9 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I am guided. I support the Motion because, as a former teacher, I believe that is the way to go. We should reward and encourage teachers for better performance and improvement of the country. view
  • 9 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, aware of the unemployment situation in the country and the challenges the youth face, especially when seeking employment, in terms of looking for many clearance certificates which consume money, this Bill will cure that. I second. view
  • 3 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand to support the Petition. I was whispering to the former Leader of the Majority Party that the company which did the project is very close to my heart. It is a very professional company from Japan. I was telling him that my first million profit ever on earth I made from that company supplying them legitimately. They are very professional people. They do a good job. This must have been an omission. Having said that, I want to agree with the Petitioner that KenGen and Kenya Power need to style up and up their ... view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to also contribute to the President’s Speech. On behalf of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations where I serve as the Vice-Chair, I appreciate the support the President has given our Committee, particularly on the Foreign Service Bill, which he assented to in a record time. That Bill had been pending for eternity. It had been in the works for more than 30 years. By having it assented to by the President, as a country, we will have a career path that can be explored by both civil ... view
  • 1 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: diplomats. Anybody who is interested in understanding Kenya’s foreign policy will be able to pick it up and read. It will also ensure that there is professionalism in the way that we handle our foreign policy issues. The Bill in many ways explains what it takes for one to grow through the system. It also explains pillars of the country’s foreign policy. As a Committee, we appreciate that that which is not measurable cannot be rewarded. We figured out that the best way to address that anomaly which we have had over the years is to come up with this ... view
