Publishing the names of the beneficiaries in the newspapers, indicating the amount of money each got and possibly the deficit will enable well wishers and administrators of organized funds, like the Members of County Assembly Fund and the CDF to identify genuine cases for assistance. Even the women Members of Parliament are going to establish a Fund from which they will give bursaries to needy students. Thank you, Hon. Speaker for allowing me to contribute to this Motion on the adoption of the Report on the unpaid pension dues to retired teachers. Many teachers retired in 1997 but apparently, most of them have had a lot of difficulties. Before I contribute further, I want to thank the House for having approved the nomination of Hon. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. In March, 2015, a list was presented to the President of the Republic of Kenya of people named in corruption cases. When that list was presented to this office, the EACC started investigating those individuals.

In Trans Nzoia which is my county, some of those named Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) initially claimed to be corrupt, approached me. They told me that they were questioned by EACC. They wrote statements in which they had taken money and signed to cover the funeral expenses of one MCA.

The team from the EACC tried to extort money from them. They claimed that they were being asked to pay Kshs200,000 each so that their names could be cleared. I asked them to bring me the evidence which they were willing to although they were still trying to collect in terms of videos in their phones. Unfortunately, up to today, these MCAs have not given me the evidence. Therefore, it presents difficulty in substantiating that claim. They are not the only ones who have also come forward. These are issues that individuals who have been named--- Some of them even came forward and said they were being asked to go to specific lawyers and deposit certain amounts of money with them. Some were told to even deposit Kshs3million. I asked them whether they can bring the evidence so that we could substantiate that but unfortunately, up to today, they have not done that.
