• 6 Aug 2013 in National Assembly: I wanted to explain that I clearly went and sought advice from the Legal Department of Parliament. They sought advice from the Budget Office of Parliament. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was contacted and they are the ones who provided information on how table sugar should be worded as per their requirements. That is how this one has been worded. My people in Bomet Central gave me clear instructions that we enjoy a cup of tea. We need sugar to be also exempted so that we can enjoy that cup of tea. They inquired from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the words which they inserted here were from that inquiry. I want to move an amendment to this to read “household sugar made from sugar-cane”.
