This is on the release of information by the institute. This amendment is necessary for clarity to allow release of information in line with the requirements of the Communication and Information Act, given that some of the information will be proprietary information. view

So, in Clause 31 we are clarifying to give the National Assembly powers that is vested in it to allocate and appropriate funds and not Parliament. This is because Parliament includes the Senate. That is the clarity we are seeking to make. view

  • 2 Dec 2021 in National Assembly: I was explaining that this is a new Bill. On the issue that Hon. Millie is referring to, it is like it is the appointed day that operationalises the Act and the former institute. There was no Act on the creation of this Institute. This is an initial law and that is why this amendment becomes necessary. view
